How to Measure Your Dog
How to Measure Your Dog
To get the perfect fit, measure your dog while they are standing using a soft tape measure:
-
Neck: Measure around the base of the neck where a collar sits (leave room for two fingers).
-
Chest: Measure the widest part of the ribcage, right behind the front legs.
-
Length: Measure along the spine from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
Important Tips
-
The Fur Factor: If your dog’s hair is currently clipped short but will grow back thick, add 1–2 inches to your measurements to ensure the clothes still fit in a few months.
-
Between Sizes? If your dog falls right on the edge between two sizes, it is almost always better to size up for comfort.
-
Breed Variation: Remember that a "Medium" in one brand might be a "Small" in another. Always compare your specific measurements to the size chart provided for that garment.
